I’m hoping this will make it easier to communicate with each other about the upcoming clan gathering. The long and short of it is that Joan and I (with help from Heather and Al and Diana and Troy) are inviting all of you to the farm on August long weekend. I hope everyone is enjoying their Family Day and it seems a good time to send out this invitation. We’re in early planning stages but we wanted to get word out and hopefully everyone can save the dates. Please post your comments, questions, hopes and fears and check back often to see what’s new. I have to moderate and approve comments before they will appear so if you won’t see your comment until I do that.
I tried to text as many family members with the link for this as I could but please pass it along to the ones I missed.
Here’s some random thoughts that we have been discussing so far. Our house is going to be full with just our own “kids” and grandchildren so we should probably reserve a block of rooms in Stettler (Ramada???) as soon as we have an idea of how many we need. Of course there’s lots of room at the farm for tents and rv’s if that helps. Maybe we should also make arrangements for taxi service as well.
With our new covered deck on the west side of the house complete with a wheel chair ramp and the lift on the front deck, accessibility should be easier for those of us that aren’t getting around so easy any more. In case of inclement weather we’ll have the garage set up to use. Al and Heather Marie will be arriving beforehand to help with the setup.
The only food planning so far is that we’ll be having smoked brisket and baked beans – probably Saturday night.
As I texted earlier, we really want to do this before there’s any more faces missing from this group picture. I’ll try to include pictures from past reunions in other posts.

Your reply explains why I wasn’t there for those two. 2012 was the last few weeks before Luigi’s closed, and 2016 I was working at the golf course before it closed down for the winter.

Our crew are all planning to be there! Megan and Keaton will come for Saturday only and Caleb and Ceili will be there for both nights. My mom and dad will come with us. We are all going to book rooms at the Ramada. We have breakfast included there, so will just be having dinners with the group. We will bring some snacks as well. Let us know what else we can bring or contribute towards the meals. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!

Garry and I will be arriving on Friday. We have a room booked at the Ramada. We have a kennel booked for the dog at Halkirk. Drop off times are before 2:00 pm or between 6:30pm to 7:30 so will probably be dropping her off at the late time. Looking forward to seeing everyone. It has been too long.
